Gaia Raises Money for HCN, AFAN

Thanks to all the fantastic people who turned out to help Gaia support High Country News and Aid for AIDS of Nevada!

On Earth Day, April 22, some 25 people turned out to help Gaia support High Country News by signing up for subscriptions and bidding on art in our silent auction. Gaia raised nearly $400 for the nonprofit foundation that supports the magazine's research, and attendees at the event bought more than a dozen subscriptions to the magazine. A special thanks to local architect and sustainability consultant Dr. Robert Fielden, who engaged the crowd with a practical discussion about living green in our desert community.

Just three days later, on April  25, Team Gaia Flowers' 14 members (including babies and dogs) joined the thousands of people who walked two miles to raise money for AIDS research in the AIDS Walk Las Vegas 2010. Besides having fun and getting a little exercise, we raised $557 for the cause. Go, Team Gaia, go!
