Downtown View, a community newspaper owned by Stephens Media, recently covered Gaia. Click here to read reporter Amanda Llewellyn's story, titled "Organic Arrangements."
Thanks to View News for its great coverage of Gaia!
Please note: Gaia does not sell organic flowers exclusively. We specialize in arrangements made with cut flowers that are certified through programs such as VeriFlora, Eco-Flora and Rainforest Alliance. Our selection of certified sustainably grown flowers is based on availability and customer demand. For more information, visit "About Us."
Local business writer Diane Taylor recently visited Gaia to buy a plant for a friend's birthday. While she was there, she took an interest in the business. A nice chat with Peter and Heidi and a cup of tea later, Diane had decided to write an article about Gaia for the online lifestyle magazine Living Las Vegas. Click here to read it.
Gaia is partnering with neighborhood nonprofit Casa de Luz to give clothing, food and household items to neighbors in need. Based in the Naked City district, Casa de Luz builds community not only through donations, but also by referring residents to services they need and providing basic career assistance and family counseling.
We'll be taking donations all through the holidays and into the New Year, but we're kicking it off at First Friday this weekend. Bring a donation to Gaia and your name will be entered into a drawing for a beautiful, tall Areca palm for your home. The drawing will be at 9 p.m. First Friday evening, Nov. 6.
Calvary Downtown Outreach serves families living in Las Vegas' poorest zip codes. With the state of the economy and increasing prices at food banks, CDO needs your help more than ever to serve our city's hungry and struggling citizens.
Your donations of canned goods (rice, beans, boxed dinners and other non-perishable items) are delivered, with messages of hope, directly to the people who need it through their downtown food pantry. Every little bit makes a difference.
Gaia is now accepting your food donations, which will be picked up by volunteers each weekend for distribution. You can also make donations directly to the outreach. Visit http://www.calvarydowntownoutreach.org for more details.
Thank you for helping Gaia to make a difference downtown!
... tortoises! Or their protectors, at least.
On behalf of our current featured artist, Bonnie Kelso, Gaia has donated half its storefront window display space to the charity of her choice to spread the word about their cause. No surprise, Bonnie picked something to do with the great outdoors: Tortoise Group, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of wild and pet desert tortoises through education.
Also getting in on the good is Las Vegas designer Joel Spencer of Happenstance Studios, who created the Tortoise Group's display. The display will be up through the end of October, and includes educational information by the Tortoise group.
Stop by Gaia before the tortoises move on!
